Anboini Innovator

For 25 years, we have used Fujita’s multi-slotted lingual brackets and its associated mushroom archwires, who is the originator of lingual orthodontics. By the change of the time, the concept of the straight archwire also came into request in lingual orthodontics, which could not keep up with the Fujita lingual bracket.

Therefore, we have developed the “Anboini system” which takes full advantage of the multi-slotted lingual brackets and its associated straight archwires. In this fashion, the malocclusion is treated simply and effectively in the shortest practicable time with a minimum number of archwires, and with appropriate orthodontic forces.

Journey of Dr. RK Hong to lingual orthodontics began when he first met professor Tsuruta in 1986, who was his instructor of orthodontic residency program in Tsurumi University in Japan. Professor Tsuruta introduced him to professor Fujita, first developer of lingual orthodontics, and offered him a great opportunity to possess abundant knowledge from professor Fujita. They always encouraged the young and naive 25-year-old resident and aroused his interest in lingual orthodontics, which led him to stake on as a specialist of lingual orthodontics.

During 25 years since he returned to Korea after studying abroad, he has spread lingual orthodontics in Korea. He has also published over 30 refereed articles, 3 books and 2 book chapters about lingual orthodontics and has been lecturing extensively all over the world.

Finally, he gained academic recognition and is listed in 2006~2007 Edition of Marquis Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, the 1st Edition of Marquis Who’s Who in Asia 2007, and the 1st edition of Marquis Who’s Who in the World 2008.
